The Alpilles massif will amaze you with one of the most beautiful villages of the country : les Baux de Provence. Saint Rémy de Provence and the Antiques will be an introduction to Roman engineering. 
You will continue this discovery with the Roman aqueduct called Le Pont du Gard
Finally, a cooking class and a tasting of Châteauneuf du Pape wines will finalise your knowledge about Provence.

Day 1

Arrival and discovery of Avignon heritage

  • avignon bridgePick up at Avignon train station and private transfer to your hotel.
  • In the afternoon, let's discover the famous Popes' Palace with its magnificent painted decorations and the Pont d'Avignon, famous for its song. For both, you will have an audioguide to learn everything about those two UNESCO momuments.
  • Dinner in a restaurant nearby your hotel (without drinks).

Day 2

All provence in one day

  • baux de provenceToday, Provence will give you its best : hilltop villages, Romain remains, typical landscapes & fine lavender
  • The Romans' arrival in the 2nd century B.C. had impact our region for ever and left us amazing remains. The Pont du Gard, classified by the UNESCO is one of the most well-preserved acqueduct from the roman time.
  • Driving to join the region of Les Alpilles, we'll see other remains such as the Triomph Arch and the Mausoleum in St Rémy de Provence. A free time in les Baux de Provence will give you the opportunity to visit this medieval eagle nest.
  • The Luberon will show you other perched villages such as Gordes and its dry stones or Roussillon and its ochre cliffs.
  • The visit of the Fine Lavender Museum will ends the day.
  • From mid June to mid July instead of the museum you will stop at Senanque Abbey to see the lavender fields in bloom. On Sunday only, enjoy L’Isle sur la Sorgue, famous village for the antique dealers and the traditional market.
  • Dinner in a restaurant nearby your hotel (without drinks).

Day 3

Châteauneuf du Pape

  • chateauneuf du papeGo on a half-day shared excursion to discover Châteauneuf du Pape. You will know everything about this vineyard thanks to a sightseeing through the vines, explanations and tastings. 2 options according to the travel date : on Mondays and Thursdays, the tour includes stops at 2 different wineries in Châteauneuf du Pape. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the tour includes one winery in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and also the entrance ticket to the Roman Theater in Orange.
  • Rest of the day at leisure.
  • Dinner in a restaurant nearby your hotel (drinks not included).

Day 4

Cooking class

  • Meet your English speaking Chef at the covered market of Avignon. Join his professional kitchen for a cooking class showing you some secrets of the Provencal gastronomy. Savor the meal you created (3 courses, drinks included) !
  • Afternoon at leisure.
