  • Start the tour with a short walk in Saint Rémy de Provence to see Van Gogh's paintings.
  • Visit Saint Paul de Mausole (entrance fee included). This was the mental hospital where he spent the last part of his life in a Romanesque monastery with a charming 12th century cloister. You can visit there the reconstitution of the room of the artist and see around the reproductions of his paintings made in the Alpilles and olive groves when he was allowed to get out.
  • Continue to Montmajour abbey (entrance fee not included) to make a stop to take picture of this magnificent place which was a source of inspiration for the artist. There he produced many drawings from 1888 to 1889 as he was fascinated by the site.
  • Possibility to take pictures of sunflower fields in bloom in July.
  • On the way back to Arles, take a picture of the Pont Langlois. This drawbridge on a canal reminded him of his homeland in the Netherlands.
  • Free time for lunch in Arles (on your own).
  • Admire Les Baux de Provence, medieval village labeled as "one of the most beautiful villages in France". This immense and superb stone fortress is without doubt one of the "must-sees" on the Provencal tourist trail !
  • Enjoy the audiovisual show (ticket included) in the Carrières de Lumière : a multimedia exhibition of famous paintings are displayed on the walls of the quarry accompanied by music. Vincent Van Gogh will be the theme in 2019.
  • Wine-tasting in an estate at the foot of the Alpilles hill range.
  • The wines of Les Baux are defined by the unique, multi-faceted character of the soil, naturally protected and dried by the mistral wind. The Baux de Provence wines have been officially recognized since 1995 by a "Registered Designation of Origin" (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée).
