Day 1


  • Pick up at Avignon train station and transfer to your hotel.
  • Enjoy the rest of your day to discover the wonders of the city center located inside the amazing defensive wall from the 14th century.
  • 3-course dinner with food and wine pairings in a restaurant located nearby your hotel

Day 2

Discovery of Avignon

  • Today have a walk in the city center ! Take the opportunity to visit the famous Popes' Palace with its magnificent painted decorations and the Pont d'Avignon popular for its song. For both, you will have an audioguide to learn everything about those two UNESCO momuments. Few steps away from the Popes' Palace, you can go to the Rocher des Doms, an English-style public garden, to enjoy the panoramic view. If you want to leave the beaten tracks join the « teinturiers » street to see the canal, the waterwheels, the theaters, the sycamores, the bars and restaurants.

Day 3

Villeneuve lez Avignon

  • Spend the day in a charming town! Cross the Rhône river in a local bus, and join the other bank where Villeneuve lez Avignon is located.
  • With a combine ticket, visit the Fort Saint André, fortress built by Kings of France in the 14th century. This place also offers wonderful gardens with flower beds of China roses, century-old olive trees and other Mediterrenean plants.
  • Finally, discover the « Chartreuse du Val de Bénédiction », a 14th century Carthusian Monastry founded by the fifth Avignon Pope, Innocent VI.
  • For your lunch, you will find many nice restaurants in the city center of Villeneuve lez Avignon

Day 4

Lavender and villages in Luberon

  • lavender fields in bloomEnjoy a shared half-day excursion to the beautiful area of the Luberon. Admire the hilltop villages of Gordes and Roussillon. Their natural and architecural heritage made with dry stones and ochre will delight you.
  • The Lavender Museum will present you all the aspects of this provencal symbol. From mid June to mid July, instead of the museum, you will stop at Senanque Abbey to see the lavender fields in bloom.

Day 5

Cooking class in Avignon

You will meet your English speaking Chef at the covered market of Avignon and join his professional kitchen for a cooking class showing you some secrets of the local cuisine. Then, savor the 3-course meal you created (drinks included).

Day 6

Culture and wine

  • orange antique theatreGo on a half-day excursion to discover Châteauneuf du Pape. You will learn everything about this vineyard thanks to a sightseeing through the vines, explanations of your wine expert, and wine tastings.
  • 2 options according to the travel date : on Mondays and Thursdays, the tour includes stops at 2 different wineries in Châteauneuf du Pape. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the tour includes one winery in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and also the entrance ticket to the Roman Theater in Orange.

Day 7

Roman sites and historical places

Visit the amphitheater in Nîmes, one of the best preserved of the Roman time still used for performances and shows. Enjoy the site of Pont du Gard, amazing place between nature and history. Stroll in the town of Uzès, wonderful medieval city and the first Duchy of France, where was found the spring for the supply of the Roman aqueduct.

    This location will enable you to wander around very easily without having to take public transportation.

    The 5 star Hotel d'Europe is a magnificent 16th century residence, offering 39 rooms and 5 spacious and luxuriously decorated suites.

    The restaurant "La Vieille Fontaine" is one of the best restaurant of the region.
